Bludenz Shooting Club (BSC) is celebrating its anniversary

The Bludenz Shooting Club (BSC Bludenz), founded in 1969 by Josef Gatt, Erwin Hinterreiter and Kurt Anrig, celebrated its 55th anniversary. As the first shooting club in Vorarlberg, BSC Bludenz is one of the oldest shooting clubs in Austria. The founding members played a major role in establishing the Vorarlberg Regional Association and achieved rapid sporting success.

“Bludenz Shooting Club has been doing great work for the sport and the community for decades. I am particularly impressed by the focus on encouraging young talent, which has already led to great success. “On behalf of all the members, I would like to congratulate Club President Alexander Bastila on the occasion of its 55th anniversary I wish him continued success and great sporting achievements,” says Cenk Dogan, city councilor responsible for the clubs, praising the work of the Bludenz Shooting Club.

A few years after its founding, club members formed the Vorarlberg State Shooting Association in order to promote the sport in the region. At that time, members came not only from Vorarlberg, but also from Tyrol and Switzerland, as there were no other clubs in the surrounding area.

Over the years, the club has produced many champions, including state, national and European champions. BSC members also founded other clubs in Vorarlberg, including BSC Lustenau and BSC Hard. The association currently has 107 members, including 22 young people, and focuses on promoting young talents. The club's youth team was launched in the fall of 2022, followed by the first Vorarlberg state youth team in 2023. Four young talents have already reached the potential pool of the Austrian national team in 2024 and have managed to win medals in national competitions.
