Caribbean Battle announced: the sequel to the legendary pirate strategy

While real-time strategy has been cementing a niche presence for years, developers have proven time and time again that the genre, so often said dead, is still alive. Now the French development team Microids is reviving an iconic classic with Corsairs – Battle of the Caribbean, which was able to inspire fans of the time with its untapped environment and versatile gameplay.

Fleet management combined with trading simulation in hacking environment

Similar to the Corsairs, which was known in this country as “The Corsair”, players will also experience the combination of real-time strategy gameplay mixed with tactical combat and management elements in Corsairs – Battle of the Caribbean. Slip into the role of a fleet commander who wants to create a thriving business empire in the Caribbean.

It is up to us to develop trade routes, defend our posts in the Caribbean islands, and safely sail our fleet through the inhospitable waters of the tropics. In doing so, we have the opportunity to improve and upgrade ships to fight against enemy fleets. The new boarding mode, in which we can board enemy ships, should ensure maximum immersion.

In addition to trade and diplomacy with the French, Danish, Spanish, British and Dutch factions, we can use special maps to search for treasure or recruit new members for our ship’s crew. The gameplay takes place in an open game world, which the developers would like to present in more detail in the near future. Corsairs – Battle of the Caribbean is set to be released in 2024 for PC, Playstation 4, Playstation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch.
