Until the 89th minute it looked as if Parma could continue their cup fairy tale. But then the favorite from Florence responded. Sutil converted a penalty kick to send Fiorentina into extra time. After this remained goalless, a penalty shootout decision had to be made. There the Tuscans got the better end with a score of 4:1.
The second division club had previously bravely faced the first division club. Thanks to goals from Bernabe and Bony (21st and 23rd), Parma led 2-0 at half-time. Fiorentina coach Italiano reacted angrily and made 4 changes (!). After the break, Fiorentina ran in vain for a long period before Nzola scored in the 83rd minute. The home team succeeded in equalizing in an exciting end. Parma had already eliminated another top-flight team, Lecce, in the second round.
Italian Cup: Round of 16

0:1 Bernabe (21st), 0:2 Bony (23rd), 1:2 Down (83rd), 2:2 Sutil (89th minute penalty kick)
