Xbox introduces chatbot: Customer inquiries could soon be handled using artificial intelligence

Microsoft is creating a chatbot capable of handling customer inquiries. This would allow the AI ​​tool to replace customer support staff.

This chatbot is reported to be supposed to answer customer questions the edge. This AI bot currently operates under the name “Xbox Support Virtual Agent” and is being thoroughly tested internally at Microsoft.

If everything goes smoothly in these tests, the chatbot could soon support Xbox customers with their concerns. A support bot's areas of responsibility range from helping with technical challenges to issues with paid subscriptions.

Until now I have never had the pleasure of meeting a chatbot that really knows what I want and can help me solve my problems. AI assistants were more likely to get burned out unless they had to answer a completely mundane question that could easily be read in an FAQ. But Microsoft is happy to disabuse me here.

“We're testing the Xbox Virtual Support Agent, an internal prototype of an animated character that can query Xbox support topics via voice or text,” Haiyan Zhang, general manager of gaming AI at Xbox, told The Verge. Thus the existence of the robot was confirmed.

“The prototype makes it easier and faster for players to get help on support topics using natural language by taking information from existing Xbox support pages,” Chang said, describing the bot as “an accessible, responsibly designed, cross-platform AI toolkit.”
