Fallout: London: Due to the decline: This PC platform has been excluded for the time being!

When the promising Fallout London mega mod finally arrives, some Fallout 4 owners will unfortunately be disappointed. This is due to the necessary backtracking.

It is known that the next-gen update for Fallout 4 has put the ambitious Fallout London mod on hold. After several months, the release is now imminent, but as we mentioned earlier, Fallout 4 as the base game must be rolled back to an earlier version of the game. This is why not all Fallout 4 owners will actually be able to play the mod.

A spokesperson for GOG.com, where the mod was posted, has now confirmed that Fallout London cannot be played on versions of Fallout 4 purchased from the Epic Games Store. The reason: the store simply supports rollbacks.

This puts an end to the plan to make the post-apocalyptic London mod available in all versions of Fallout 4. While versions of the game purchased from the Epic Games Store are excluded, it's easier to complete the process directly on GOG.com. There's a “simple and reliable undo feature” there.

Additionally, Fallout 4 buyers should also be able to play Fallout London on Steam. For Valve's popular PC platform, “an option to downgrade to a previous version via the Downgrade Tool and/or by manually downloading a previous version” is in the works.

According to the developers at Team FOLON, the reason for the necessary downgrade of Fallout 4 to an earlier version of the game is simply that the current next-gen update is not stable enough for the situation. After all, a game version of Fallout London is scheduled to be released at a later date, which also works with the next-gen update. The question remains: when? After that, buyers of the main game on the Epic Games Store should also be able to start.
