Mumbai: Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis had a miraculous escape when the Chopper in which he was travelling crash landed near Latur. The Chopper collapsed after it entangled in cable wires.
“Our helicopter did meet with an accident in Latur but I and my team are absolutely safe and ok. Nothing to worry,” the Chief Minister tweeted. The US-made Sikorsky helicopter has been badly damaged and fortunately, no one was hurt in the incident. Four persons including Fadnavis were on board.
The CM told newsmen the helicopter landed soon after taking off because of technical trouble. The white chopper was damaged but nobody injured seriously.
The preliminary investigation by Directorate General of Civil Aviation said the pilot found variable wind pattern and decided to land the helicopter immediately after taking off. During landing, the helicopter got entangled in wires and sustained substantial damage.
