Yes, you have read it right. It’s not North Korea, rather Venezuela is facing the ire of Donald Trump as the US President hasn’t ruled out military operations against Venezuela. Donald Trump’s offensive stance has taken aback the Venezuelan leadership and they have retorted strongly.
Venezuela Defense Minister Vladimir Padrino said in response to Donald Trump’s military threat, “It is an act of supreme terrorism. As our minister of defence and a Venezuelan citizen, I say it is an act of madness.” The White House also came up with a strong statement mentioning, “Today Nicolas Maduro requested a phone call with President Donald Trump. President Trump will gladly speak with the leader of Venezuela as soon as democracy is restored in that country.”
No doubt, it is indeed shocking that Donald Trump has mentioned Venezuela and North Korea with the same tag. Whether US will at all opt for an offensive attack is a different question and at present, Venezuela is indeed witnessing the gloomy state of affairs. The country itself is going through a crisis where the ruling party is facing flak from all quarters for using excessive force to diminish the opposition. The Nicolas Maduro government is under tremendous pressure right now and in all probability, megalomaniac Donald Trump is further aggravating problems with regard to Venezuela.
