Congress President Rahul Gandhi criticized the BJP Government over the violence that erupted in Haryana in protest against the release of the film ‘Padmavaat.’ He accused that the BJP Government has given a free hand to the protestors who warned to burn down the theatres which were going to release the film.
Further, he blamed that the BJP is using ‘hatred and violence’ which is setting a fire in the country. Rahul Gandhi severely condemned the attack on protestors on a school bus consisting of school children in Gurugram of Haryana state. He said that there can be no cause which can justify an attack on children.
The Congress party also found fault with the Haryana state government which couldn’t control the mobs that attacked shops and malls in the state.
Congress Spokesperson Randeep Surjewala shared a tweet on this issue and condemned the attack on a bus consisting of school children. He said that the attack on the school bus was unacceptable, reprehensible and devastating.
Further, he remarked that the Government of Manohar Lal Khattar has utterly failed in maintaining law and order in the state. A public transport was burnt in the same incident.
Protestors have also tried to block the Delhi-Jaipur National Highway at Gurgaon. Violence during the protests has spread in states such as Rajasthan, Haryana, Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh.
