Indian Women Cricket team had changed the perspective of the way in which cricket is seen. They played like a champion team in the women world cup. They lost the cup but won the hearts of millions of people across the world. A key prospect of this entire Indian campaign is Harman Preet Kaur. She has been the backbone for Team India since the day she made it to the national side. Although she plays a gem of an innings occasionally, she makes sure that it lifts the team. Her innings in the semi final is one of the best knocks in the cricket history.
So how does this star cricketer gets out of the stress? Harman answered this question in a recent interview. “I always like to watch Bollywood movies whenever I’m stressed out. Recently, I watched Dangal and the movie moved me so much. The Phogat family’s struggle to get a gold medal for the nation is very inspiring” she said.
Whom would she like to see as herself if a movie was made? Harmanpreet says that Deepika Padukone would be the right choice to portray her on the screen. “Deepika is a good actor. She’d be the right choice. she’d able portray me well on-screen,” quoted Kaur. Though she was quick enough to brush the thought aside saying she got a long way to go. Right now, we’re focused on winning the next World Cup. There’s so much more I need to achieve,” says Harmanpreet.
What would be her future plans? The all-rounder reveals it. she has plans to inaugurate a cricket academy in her hometown, Moga. Already girls in Harman’s town are joining in the cricket coaching centres inspired by her. “The best part is that in Moga, parents of young girls are encouraging them to take up cricket. It’s a huge achievement for us to have inspired girls across the country” says Harman.
