The rumors about Nintendo Switch 2 don't stop. There is now new information about when we can expect the successor to the popular hybrid console.
There are reports from Spain that development of the Nintendo Switch 2 is already at an advanced stage and that the console is almost finished. Nintendo appears to be considering the optimal launch time.
Nintendo Switch 2: Will it be released in spring 2025?
Spring 2025 has been repeatedly mentioned as a possible release date. Specifically, it could be either March or April. This decision depends largely on the course of action in the current year. If Nintendo is happy with the Switch, the launch could be delayed until the next fiscal year.
Why wait so long?
It may come as a surprise that Nintendo has waited so long to release a new console, especially since development has seemingly already been completed. Experts suspect Nintendo wants to make the most of its Christmas business with the current Switch. Additionally, a newer version may avoid the Switch 2 competing directly with new consoles from Sony and Microsoft.
What we know so far
In addition to the potential release date, there are also other details that have been leaked:
- New offer: The Switch 2 should be based on an LC display, unlike the Switch's OLED panel
- Magnetic Joy-Con: New controllers must have magnetic connecting elements
- More powerful devices: The Switch 2 is expected to be much more powerful than the current console
Although Nintendo has yet to release any official information about the Switch 2, numerous leaks indicate that we can look forward to an exciting successor.
