
Google Street View is 15 years old and now contains more than 220 billion images. Digital walking on public streets has also become possible in Austria since 2018.
Google announced on Tuesday that the Alpine Republic ranked 35th in the ranking last year, while the top three came to Indonesia, the United States and Japan.
For the most visited cities, Vienna was ranked 98th, while Jakarta and Tokyo were at the top of Street View. In the federal capital itself, Schönbrunn Palace, Belvedere and Hofburg are frequently clicked.
In the federal states, this was the Red Bull Ring, the stairway to nothingness at Dachstein and Krimml Falls. Among the local museums, the Belvedere Gallery, Mozart’s Birthplace and the Museum of Natural History reached the podium.
Three places in particular have sparked the interest of users around the world. The tallest building in the world with 154 floors, the Burj Khalifa in the UAE, the Eiffel Tower in France and the Taj Mahal in India, were the most used by Street View users.
