Nuremberg – Thursday, March 24, 2022 at 10:26 am

Nicolas Duvidan will leave 1. FC Nürnberg at the end of the season.

As announced by the “club”, the contract of the attacking player, which expires in the summer, will not be extended.

“It’s unfortunate of course, but on the other hand I can understand the joint decision,” says Dovidan. “It’s been three very eventful and intense years that are not over yet. We still have seven games left and we will do everything we have as a team that wants what is possible.”

Dovidan cost €2.5 million in 2019

In the summer of 2019, the 27-year-old moved to Nuremberg after two years at 1. FC Heidenheim in the second Bundesliga, with the Franconians paying €2.5 million for his services at that time.

While the former Altach player was still part of the permanent machine for extended periods in the 2019/20 season, the minutes he played gradually diminished in the following two years. However, he is playing his best season in terms of goals so far this year and has managed to score five goals in 24 matches.

In total, Dovidan played 91 competitive matches, scoring 11 goals and nine assists.

Board member Sport Dieter Hecking thanks the Lower Austrian: “We would like to thank Nicolas for the past three years and wish him and us a successful conclusion of the cooperation.”
