Will US President Donald Trump be called upon again in the future? The 76-year-old is expected to announce a new presidential bid this week (Tuesday, 9:00pm local time; Wednesday, 3:00am CET).
The Republican made a “very big ad” at his home in Mar-a-Lago, Florida. The 76-year-old is expected to announce his intention to run for the presidential elections in 2024. One of Trump’s aide confirmed that this is the intention of the former president.
Former US President Trump flirted with the candidacy
Since leaving the White House in January 2021 after just one term, the right-wing populist has repeatedly courted another potential nomination. Still, Trump has been weakened politically by last week’s midterm elections: Many Republicans blame the former president for the party’s disappointing performance in the so-called midterms, in which President Joe Biden’s Democrats managed to defend their majority in the Senate.
