She won gold three times with cakes. Since 2016, Claudia Winkler and her daughters Sarah (14), Alina (11) and Nellie (8) from Wielands have been participating in the cake competition at the Cakes and Creativity Fair in Messe Feils. In its seventh edition, The Cloverleaf has been a particular hit with the creative hobby.
Last year the four were awarded ‘Silver’ for their creations and Sarah received ‘Best in Class’ among children’s cakes. This year the surprise and joy were huge: the three girls received “Gold” for their submissions on the theme “Winter”. Neele’s cake received the award for best in the children’s category. “None of us really expected that. In Wales, the jury called them the ‘Golden Girls,'” the mother said. Got “Silver” back for Santa Claus.
Claudia Winkler has been producing custom-decorated cakes for several years. “I enjoy modeling and I admire what you can make with fondant,” she says of her hobby.
While watching, her daughters naturally wanted to try it themselves – the awards were proof of their talent. The baby cake does not have an actual cake underneath the decoration, but rather a “doll” made of Styrofoam or Rice Krispie mix.
