On December 31st, the “Vienna Little Opera”, also called the Concordia Schlussel at Simmeringer Hauptstrasse 283, built in 1891, invites people to a 1920s-style New Year's Eve party. Guests were offered a great deal for the €130 entry fee. Highlights included a sumptuous 4-course menu, Charleston-era music to match the theme, frivolous and liberal songs, a bawdy burlesque show and fireworks at midnight.

For this event, the location across from Vienna's Central Cemetery was transformed into a ballroom as if it were a Berlin Babylon. The real “flapper girls” and “guys” came dressed appropriately and equipped with feather boas, suspenders and gaiters. After a musical introduction by the singer, swing-era music, frivolous and liberal songs and a burlesque show followed. Since midnight there was an electric swing. The Cateringkultur team, led by restaurateur Thomas Gailer, presented a festive 4-course menu. There was champagne and food to eat to put us in a good mood.
