Aluminum specialist Hammerer Aluminum Industries (HAI) plans to invest and expand capacity at all HAI Group sites. Almost a year ago, on April 27, 2023, Hammerer Aluminum Industries celebrated the official groundbreaking ceremony for a 40 MMN extrusion line capacity expansion at the Cris (Romania) site. The investment in Cris is part of a €125 million investment package for the entire HAI Group. At the Romanian site in Cres, investments are made in a highly automated extrusion line with corresponding infrastructure. This greatly increases production capacity. High quality products for the solar, construction and industrial sectors are the focus of production at Cris.

“The new system will unlock urgently needed capacity so that it can support customers in their growth in the coming years despite the already very high capacity utilization,” summarizes Rob van Gils, CEO of HAI Group. In addition to the new extrusion line, the new 25,000 square meter hall provides more space for further processing and logistics. In addition to the main hall, 5 additional buildings will be built for various additional functions and infrastructure. This doubles the total area of the factory in Chris to 32,300 square metres. For sustainable production at Cres, a large photovoltaic system on the roof will generate green electricity.
