At the sustainable networking event, high-level guests exchanged ideas.
“Transition to a sustainable economy”: this was the slogan under which the Academy’s Sustainable Communication Event was held at the Park Hyatt Hotel in Vienna in April 2024. The event opened with a video message from Peter Hanke, Acting City Councilor for Finance.
Keynote speech and discussion
After the welcome, Wolfgang Schweda, Founder and Managing Director of Academy.ws, introduced the ecosystem and development of the Academy. This was followed by a keynote speech by meteorologist Andreas Jäger, who spoke about the current situation of climate change. As part of a panel discussion, experts Mark Šapka from ÖBB-BBC GmbH, Helmut Forchtner from Siemens Mobility Austria GmbH, Philipp Horner from voestalpine High Performance Metals Division GmbH and Philipp Erschek from Steiermark Energie AG shared their views and experiences:
Amstedt native Gernot Wagner, a prominent climate economist and founding director of Harvard's Solar Geoengineering Research Program, also participated in the discussion via live broadcast from New York.
