In his new position, the Italian will lead the management teams for the four Art Basel fairs in Basel, Paris, Hong Kong and Miami Beach, according to a press release.

In Basel, he will report directly to Global Director Mark Spiegler and play a key role “in the future development of Art Basel and the expansion of its presence in new markets through activities that complement the core business of the world’s leading art galleries.”
Mark Spiegler and the three other galleries directors will retain their positions. Spiegler himself must remain fully engaged in his past responsibilities, although this appointment allows him to focus on the larger vision and future of Art Basel, according to an Art Basel spokesperson.
