Holgado takes his first pole with Masia in fourth grade

Daniel Holgado (Red Bull KTM Tech3) did a great job in qualifying for the Qatar Airways Grand Prix: the Spaniard took his KTM machine to the top of the timesheets and thus earned a free spin into the first turn on Sunday. With a time of 2:04.732, Holgado Diogo Moreira (MT Helmets – MSI) stole the show, dropping the young Brazilian to second place by just 0.003 seconds. They will be joined by Deniz Öncü (Red Bull KTM Ajo) on the front row after setting a fast lap to take third place. The Turkish is expected to be a strong opponent in the front row after showing an excellent performance at the Losail International Circuit – alone!

The battle for the Moto3™ title remains wide open as Ayumu Sasaki (Liqui Moly Husqvarna Intact GP) and Jaume Masia (Leopard Racing) prepare to battle under the lights. Sasaki won his heat and finished fourth while Mascia finished tenth. The Spaniard has a chance to win the title on Sunday, but he will have to fight from the fourth row if he wants to win the race.

Sasaki will be on the second row alongside teammate Colin Viger (Liqui Moly Husqvarna Intact GP), who finished fifth ahead of Romano Fenati (Rivacold Snipers Team). Joel Kelso (CFMoto Racing PruestelGP) will start on the third row after finishing 0.003 seconds ahead of Mathieu Bertil (Rivacold Snipers Team). They were joined on the third row by Ivan Urtola (Team Angleuss MTA), with the Spaniard finishing Q2 in ninth place. On the fourth row is a frustrated Jaume Masia, flanked by Filippo Farioli (Red Bull KTM Tech3) and Vicente Perez (BOE Motorsports) in 11th and 12th.
