Champions of English football record Manchester United have exercised the option to extend their contracts until 2024 with four of their professionals. Coach Erik ten Hag announced this on the club’s website on Saturday.

According to the Dutchman, the contracts of World Cup participants Diogo Dalot, Fred, Marcus Rashford and Luke Shaw will be extended by one year. Otherwise, they would have finished next June. Rashford and Shaw, like the Brazilian Fred and the Portuguese Diogo Dalot, were with their teams in the quarter-finals of the World Cup and were eliminated there. “We are happy that the team is heading in the right direction and these players have played a big part in that,” Ten Hag said in an interview with the club’s broadcaster.
Cristiano Ronaldo will no longer play for the top five in the Premier League. After harsh criticism of Ten Hag, Manchester United parted ways with the Portuguese striker, who lost his regular place in the national team during the World Cup. After the World Cup break, Manchester United expects Nottingham Forest to participate in the Premier League next Tuesday.
