“This play with words came to mind,” said Ronald Peter when asked about the origin of the event’s original title, “Ronald Peter and the Wolf.”
For children from about five years
The organist of Krems Cathedral and the dedicated director of the Chorus Musica Sacra organized two events for children under this name many years ago. On Sunday, April 23, at 11 a.m., children five and older will once again have the opportunity to get acquainted with the music of the programs at Wachau Cathedral. The focus is on the well-known musical fairy tale by Sergei Prokofiev “Peter and the Wolf”.
Organist, storyteller
Ronald Peter will sit on the organ, and young listeners can sit in the front rows of the church. Roland Peter’s wife Claudia Riedel works there as a storyteller. In the beginning, the individual characters of the plot with registers associated with the instrument and melodies. A duck, a bird, a cat and even Peter’s grandfather are hiding in the organ on this day…
Adults welcome too!
Speaking of kids: As Peter stresses, “Of course adults are also very welcome. It’s definitely fun for them, too.” Admission to the event is free, but donations are welcome.
