Peter Berkner is the new HR Director at OMV | people | career path career path

On October 4, 2021, Peter Berkner took over Human Resources at OMV Group as Senior Vice President. He reports directly to OMV CEO and General Manager Alfred Stern.

With Peter Pirkner, OMV has brought an experienced HR Manager into the team who can make a significant contribution to the necessary transformation. In addition to his MBA from the Vienna University of Economics and Business and the University of Minnesota, he studied economic and organizational psychology at the University of Vienna. He remembers three decades of experience as an international human resource manager and as a consultant in the field of human resource management consultancy. Among others, Peter Berkner was Group Human Resources Director at UniCredit Leasing in Milan, ÖBB Holding AG and A1 Telekom Austria AG as well as an associate partner at EY. Most recently, he ran his own strategy consulting firm and supported companies in their digital transformation.

The success of change processes depends primarily on employees, which is why personnel management also plays an important role. I am therefore pleased that we were able to win Peter Berkner as Head of Human Resources, who will provide His extensive experience around change and transformation processes is at this critical stage in the company,” said Alfred Stern, CEO and Managing Director of OMV.

Isabelle Hammettner leaves the company at her request to pursue new assignments. Held the position of Senior Vice President of Human Resources since April 2016, she and her team have contributed significantly to the reorganization of OMV and the modernization of personnel management.
