A successful test for the emergence of Austrian series champion RB Salzburg against Spain champion Atletico Madrid. Salzburg defeated the Rojiblancos 1-0 in the best international prep match at the Red Bull Arena.
Against a great backdrop, the Bulls showed fast football right from the start and seem to have coped well with the turmoil of the summer. Young Karim Adeyemi scored a double scorer at the start of the league against Sturm Graz, the only goal this evening. After a quick start, he finished off the ice cold in the far corner (34th minute).
In the break, Salzburg coach Matthias Giseli made almost a complete exchange, with only goalkeeper Kohn and Guindo left on the grass for the time being.
This does not change the image on the green grass. Salzburg remains in pole position against a young Atlético club that plays without stars and comes out with some good chances. The Video Assistant Referee rejected Giuliano Simeone’s goal midway through the second half due to an offside position in the goal making.
Thus the bulls rejoice at a close victory over a strong opponent. Next week, FC Barcelona will be a test guest in Salzburg.
