Verstappen could make his second world title perfect early in the night race, but a lot of things have to go together.
On Friday, he was initially 84ths behind Hamilton, and the rest of the field was already behind. Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc was third (0.4) and Sergio Perez second in Red Bull Racing in fourth (0.8), several tenths behind.
Both will also be considered on Sunday. Verstappen must win to be world champion again five races before the finish. At the same time, Perez can only take 4th place, while Leclerc takes 8th at most.

Sebastian Vettel, the record winner in Singapore with five wins, started his last race of the weekend on the street circuit in 11th place. Hesian at Aston Martin is ending his career after this season.
Mick Schumacher, who still does not have a contract with Haas for 2023, finished only 18th at the start, thus behind his teammate Kevin Magnussen (14th). Schumacher had never driven a car in Singapore before.
