Multi Crore Land Scams Bring More Trouble To KCR & Chandrababu Naidu

The multi-crore land scams unearthed recently in both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana created a fresh bout of trouble to Chief Ministers K Chandrasekhar Rao and N Chandrababu Naidu’s governments.

While KCR is taking some damage control measures by taking action against the officials and left the political leaders to go Scott free, Naidu landed in deep neck trouble as he yet to take action against anybody involved in the land scams.

In Hyderabad, nearly 700 acres of government was illegally registered by some private persons with the support of key leaders in TRS government. Taking serious note of it, KCR suspended all officials responded immediately and reshuffled the Registration department. However, KCR did not take any action against the kingpins in the land scam. TRS senior leaders K Keshava Rao, D Srinivas and Redya Naik names also figured in the land scam.

In Andhra Pradesh, ministers in collusion with the officials gobbled up Rs 20,000 crore worth lands by tampering records in Visakhapatnam. The scam brought disrepute to Naidu government. The opposition YSR Congress party already taken up the issue and exposed government’s failures in protecting the costly lands. In Telangana, all the opposition parties are fighting unitedly against land grabbing.

Analysts say KCR and Naidu are facing a tough time after the land scams shook the two states. Unless the leaders involved in the scam are brought to book, the two governments will not come clean. As the Assembly elections are two years away, the two Chief Ministers must prove their sincerity in protecting properties. Or, the two leader will have to face the music in the hustings.
