Steyr introduced the new generation of Terrus CVT tractors on Tuesday. The focus of the review was on the design, the cabin with new controls and modern connectivity technology.
Like the previous series introduced in 2015, the Terrus CVT series—manufactured in the St. Valentin in Austria – on three models (250/270/300 rated hp), all with Steyr CVT transmission.
electronic
When the driver climbs into the cab, the main feature is the all-new Multicontroller III armrest. This offers a newly designed multifunctional arm, individually adaptive controls including auxiliary console sticks with LED color display – this allows the rear consoles to be freely set – and the new ISOBUS compliant Infomat 1200 touch screen. This provides an overview of all tractor functions and allows operation and display of all systems and components on board. In addition, encoders and several programmable buttons can be used to act quickly and intuitively while working. In addition, the front and rear cameras help connect accessories and monitor the surrounding environment through the on-screen display, product managers explained Tuesday.
The Infomat 1200 not only contains the next generation of S-Guide, but also the new S-Fleet telematics function, which makes manual/USB data logging and transmission unnecessary. Tractor and prepared operating data is recorded instantly and automatically and can be accessed on the working computer via the MySTEYR.com web portal or the S-Fleet Mobile app on the manager/owner’s smart device. In addition, machine locations can be displayed and performance indicators can be monitored so that eg b. When a fuel supply is required. Bi-directional data transmission allows data and instructions such as b- to send field maps from a smart device or PC to the tractor.
If the owner gives his consent, his Steyr dealer can also monitor the tractors equipped with the S fleet. So dealer z can. Spot early warning signs of potential malfunctions and provide access to remote maintenance with S-Fleet Remote support. With this feature, merchants can remotely publish and broadcast software updates if needed. In addition, they can support drivers in the cab via S-Fleet Remote Desktop by connecting directly to the Infomat 1200 screen anytime, anywhere.
The Plane
The new design also benefits from visibility from the driver’s seat. The panoramic four-spoke cabin design includes large windows, lowered rear fenders, a clear view roof window, a one-piece windshield with a curved upper edge and a 27% wipe-off area thanks to a low wiper design. Visibility can be improved with LED road lighting and work packages with up to 14 headlights in the roof, four in the front of the cab, two in the rear fenders and four in the hood.
The new automatic climate control has increased cooling capacity and automatic zone control. The noise level has been reduced to 66dB through the use of internal sound-absorbing materials. The new seats are equipped with heating and cooling and a reclining backrest. Comfort is increased by a new throttle, which allows precise control from crawling to fielding to road travel, it is said.
There’s also more room and storage space, including an integrated cooler box under the seat, which is big enough for a lunch box and two 2-liter bottles, Steyr continues. Several ISOBUS, diagnostic and power supply sockets (up to 230V) inside the cab support additional connectivity through additional displays, controls and smart devices.
Equipment packages
The new Terrus CVT is available in two equipment packages, as well as freely configurable models, which can be precisely adapted to the specific needs of the Steyr Typical with “on-demand” equipment features.
first package”has evolvedIncludes hydraulics with 165 or 220 l/min, 4-speed power take-off, electronic parking brake, ‘Luxury’ or ‘Active Luxury’ cab options with automatic air conditioning, passenger seat, cabin suspension and front axle, Easy Tronic II Headland management and automatic S-Guide plus ISOBUS Class II or III options.

Multiple new models and small size
The Steyr also had something new that was announced in the Multi and Kompakt series as the best selling Steyr model: it is now available with a new 3.6L engine. With improved exhaust aftertreatment, the tractors meet Stage 5 emissions regulations and must provide higher power and more torque.
Multiple
According to the manufacturer, Multi offers a 32×32 transmission with automatic group change and a low center of gravity. The three models with 99 to 117 horsepower were equipped with the new 3.6-liter FPT 4-cylinder F5 engine. Thus, the tractor benefits from the advantages of common rail injection, four valves per cylinder, and greater displacement than the previous 3.4-liter fourth-stage-compatible engine. Since the dimensions of the engine and coolant package have not changed despite higher production, the compact shape of the tractors must be retained.
The new exhaust gas aftertreatment system also contributes to this: it is based on the diesel oxidation catalytic converter, the maintenance-free diesel particulate filter and selective catalytic reduction in one integrated unit under the hood. This should ensure good visibility for the driver and high maneuverability of the vehicle.
The new 4100 Multi and 4110 Multi models provide more engine power and all new models provide 5% more torque to improve performance. It now achieves maximum torque at 1,300 instead of 1,500 rpm, which reduces fuel consumption even more.
In addition, multiple tractors can now also be equipped with the well-known Steyr electronic front linkage controls – with or without the front PTO port – and electric proportional center pivot valves are available for mechanical rear control units.
All models now offer a luxurious interior based on the larger tractors, including floor mats and leather steering wheel, and take on the design of other new Steyr tractors. Two additional LED work lights on the rear cabin pillars ensure better visibility and increased safety.
built
“The Steyr Kompakt series tractors are light, easy to maneuver, flexibly use and still offer many advantages over larger tractors,” says Steyr describing the series. The four models have 80 to 120 horsepower in compliance with Stage 5 emissions regulations, thanks to the new 3.6-liter FPT F5 engine, which is also used in the Multi.
Engine power has been increased and torque increased by up to 10%, depending on the model, with maximum torque already achieved at a fuel-efficient engine speed of 1,300 rpm. As with multiple tractors, the Compact Class now benefits from a maintenance-free diesel particulate filter and selective catalytic reduction in one integrated unit under the hood, ensuring excellent visibility and maneuverability. Ease of maintenance has also been improved as the fuel and oil filters can now be accessed from the same side of the tractor.

The Excellence package also includes automatic lower linkage and hydraulic upper linkage stabilizers, now equipped with a convenient locking and pressure gauge for ease of operation.
improve driving behavior
The latest Steyr S-Control CVT transmission has individually adaptive transmission settings. According to the company, engineers developed transmission software to improve the acceleration/deceleration behavior, reverse gear, throttle sensitivity, cruise control bypass, sensitivity and position detection of the multi-controller. It is also possible to use the intuitive display of the S-Tech 700 to adjust these individual settings according to the driver’s preferences and operational requirements, saving and restoring them if necessary.
The Absolut CVT tractors can be equipped with the STEYR S-Fleet communication package. This enables fleet management and data transfer between the tractor, the smart device and the office.
