Following the mass layoffs of Twitter’s online service, co-founder and former president Jack Dorsey has apologized to employees. “I realize a lot of people are mad at me,” Dorsey wrote on Twitter today. He’s responsible for the fact that Twitter employees are now in this situation: “I’ve let the company grow so fast. I apologize for that.”
Dorsey wrote that people on Twitter are “strong and resilient.” They will find a way, even if the situation is difficult right now. Dorsey co-founded the company in 2006 and resigned as CEO last year. In the spring he also withdrew from the supervisory board.
Twitter has fired about half of its 7,500 employees just a week after it was acquired by billionaire Elon Musk. He had previously acquired Twitter for $44 billion (about €44 billion).
