Google Pixel 7a: 64MP camera, wireless charging, first teaser

Google Pixel 7a: 64MP camera, wireless charging, first teaser

Google I/O kicks off next week on May 10th and on the second day of the event, the company will unveil the Pixel 7a. In fact, Google puts the A series in the middle class. However, a new leak with full technical data today has revealed that the new model will come very close to the regular Pixel 7.

For example, there is the main camera of the Google Pixel 7a, which for the first time in the A series has a high resolution of 64 megapixels. The screen’s 90Hz refresh rate is also a first, as is wireless charging (18W). For example, the 7a is a huge upgrade over the Pixel 6a from a year ago. On the one hand, it is very close to the technical data of the Pixel 7, which is not even a year old yet. This also includes the Tensor G2 chipset.

The Google Pixel 7 started at $600 (€545) last year, and these days a discount is almost always available. The Pixel 7a is expected to cost $500 (€454), $50 more than the previous 6a. This is not unexpected given the major updates to the new model. Compared to its predecessor, the 6.1-inch screen is slightly smaller than the 6.3-inch screen on the flagship model. However, the specifications are identical with FHD+ resolution, 90Hz, and AMOLED technology.

A 64MP HD main camera is also available to improve Super Res Zoom. It’s also based on a 1/1.37-inch Sony IMX787 sensor, which is pleasingly large for a Pixel phone, if you believe the rumor mill. And wireless charging narrows the gap between 7 and 7a even further.

Google Pixel 7a: the first official teaser

The first official Google Pixel 7a teaser is now available online, thanks to the Indian representation of Americans. Google has announced that the device will be available for purchase from Flipkart from May 11th. This is exactly one day after the rumored official announcement of the Pixel 7a at Google I/O.

This brings us just over a week away from the official launch of the Pixel 7a. Also on stage at I/O will be Google’s first foray into the world of foldable phones, the Google Pixel Fold.
