An era ends at AC Milan: Olivier Giroud moves to America. It's not yet official which club he'll be moving to – but there is one hot candidate.
France's record goalscorer Olivier Giroud is leaving AC Milan for the American soccer league MLS. The 37-year-old 2018 world champion made the announcement in an emotional interview on the club's own television station on Monday. The striker said the next two games would be his last with Milan. “My career will continue in MLS,” Giroud said. Although he has not named his upcoming club, he is expected to play for Los Angeles FC in the near future.
2019 Champions League Winner
The Frenchman has been playing for AC Milan since 2021, with whom he won the Italian football champion in 2022. He is very proud of everything he has done in Milan over the last three years. “My story with Milan ends this year, but Milan will always be in my heart,” said Giroud, who won the Champions League with Chelsea in 2019. He will play the final games of the season at FC Turin with the second-placed side in the table and on May 26 against American Salernitana in front of their home crowd.
