Brussels, Washington The state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania is more involved than ever in its efforts to operate the disputed Nort Stream 2 Baltic Sea Pipeline. According to Handelsblatt’s information from US government sources, the “Climate and Environmental Protection” Foundation, established by the state government and Nord Stream 2 AG, is the owner of a ship that is in the final stages of finalizing the line. It is also the “blue ship” in the US government’s latest sanctions report to Congress.
The report does not directly name the base, but indicates that the ship belongs to an organization affiliated with the “German government”. Washington is currently debating whether to impose new fines on Nord Stream 2. The Atlantic Overseas Barriers controversy, which seemed to have actually been resolved, is entering a new round.
