A week later, Wiener Austria is still very proud to extend Muharem Huskovic’s contract.
Sports director Manuel Ortlichner says: “I’m of the opinion: you can’t actually stop the boy because he’s very professional and he’s also a great guy off the field, he can recognize Austria one hundred percent. That’s why I feel like it’s such a pleasure that he decided to stay.”
And now the other talents have to commit themselves to FAK for the long term. “I hope his decision will have an impact on the conversations we have with other players at the moment,” said Ortlichner.
Upper Austria hopes to “be able to offer one or another extension of the contract in the next few weeks”.
In terms of transmissions, violets are unlikely to do much. “We always have to monitor finances when making our decisions, so we will take our steps carefully. If we still have two departures, there might be a possibility to sign another player now in the winter. Otherwise, our plans are clear towards the summer because some contracts expire there.”
