According to media reports, RB Leipzig sporting director Max Eberl is a candidate to succeed Bayern Munich sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic.
Sky reported that there had already been a conversation between the club’s directors and Eberle last week. The newspaper “Bild” also reported that Eberle was a case in Munich.
Bayern Munich won its 11th consecutive Bundesliga title with a 2-1 victory over 1. FC Cologne and Borussia Dortmund beat FSV Mainz 05 2-2. Immediately after that, Munich announced the separation of Salihamidzic and CEO Oliver Kahn. President Herbert Hainer and new CEO-designate Jan-Christian Drezen will hold a press conference on Sunday.
Eberle only took over at Leipzig in December after resigning from Borussia Mönchengladbach in January 2022, citing personal exhaustion. The 49-year-old had already been considered as a candidate for Bayern Munich in the past.
