At the 27th Bruno Gala, Eileen Campbell from Vorarlberg was named best female footballer of the 2022/23 season in Austria. The 23-year-old is the first woman from Vorarlberg to receive this award.
The striker, who moved to SPG SCR Altach/FFC Feldkirch in 2019, scored 15 goals in 17 matches and was called up to the national team squad for the first time last November. She is also in the national team’s squad for the upcoming two international matches against Portugal. The first duel will take place on October 27 in Altash. 2,300 tickets have already been sold for this game.
Campbell was born on 17 September 2000 in Feldkirch and began her career at SC Tisis at the age of eight. She joined the Vorarlberg U-14 girls team and played in the Federal Youth Championship. In 2018 she graduated from Mehrerau High School in Bregenz. Campbell reached the Women’s Bundesliga through the Mehrero Football Academy. She has been playing for SCR Altach/FFC Voderland since July 2021.

At the Bruno Awards ceremony, held since 1997 by the Footballers’ Association (VdF) in memory of the ÖFB national team player from Vorarlberg, Bruno Pizzi, who died in 1994, local Bundesliga players are entitled to vote in the main categories.
