Austria Klagenfurt has already shown in last season’s champion group that you can work well until the last minute. The team performed well in the first training session – minus the injured players. Because of this, Klagenfurt would probably change their staff, but they didn’t want to let themselves be looked down upon entirely. Coach Peter Pacholt said anyone with a footballing mind knows there is still work to be done, especially with Soto and Bender out for so long.

In any event, the competition’s first cup match, away against regional league side Steyr, is imminent in three weeks’ time. “The cup match is only four weeks away, and now it is important that we do the basics in preparation,” said Pacholt.

Klagenfurt will play their first friendly match on Friday at 5:30pm against DSG Ferlach. Captain Thorsten Mahrer said a good team structure should be at the fore again this year. The preparations will be tough, but the anticipation is great.

The WAC wants to be in the main group

Before the WAC goes to training camp in Windischgarsten from July 7-13, two friendlies against Velden and Leoben are on the agenda. There was anticipation at the beginning of the training. Captain Mario Lettgheb said they wanted to continue the good performances of last season.
