STRASBOURG – The European Union Parliament agreed to ease environmental standards in agriculture in Strasbourg on Wednesday. The new regulations were adopted in a hasty procedure without an impact assessment: the EU Commission proposed lowering the standards only in mid-March, and at the end of March the EU countries in the Council gave their blessing.
