Big win for Ergan Cara and his club Orlando City SC!
The former Raptor and Florida club beat Sacramento Republic FC 3-0 in the final of the US Open Cup in front of over 25,000 people in Orlando. Orlando won a title for the first time in the club’s history as an MLS club.
Cara is the first Austrian to win the USA Cup. Pablo Chinchilla, a long-time Bundesliga player from Costa Rica, won the 2004/2005 trophy with the Los Angeles Galaxy.

However, the ÖFB striker was not on the field when his team scored. Cara came on in the 61st minute for Benjy Mikel, who was instrumental in the win in the closing stages.
After Facundo Torres took the lead in the 75th minute, Mikel won a penalty which the Uruguayan striker managed to convert into a brace (80′). In the sixth minute of stoppage time, Michael finally scored the final point to make it 3-0.
Orlando secured a spot in the 2023 Concacaf Champions League by winning the title.
