Finnair simplifies the check-in process with a new tool » News | Hint

Checking for Covid-19 certificates is now an important part of international travel and requires a regulatory effort from both travelers and airlines. To facilitate this process, Finnair now offers a new check-in service: the digital tool replaces the existing paper-based documentation system used to manage travel documents and controls at airports.
Passengers traveling from Helsinki to Vienna, Zurich or Geneva can easily confirm that they meet the Covid-19 conditions required by the destination authorities and that they have the relevant certificates.
This can be easily mentioned during online check-in or via the Finnair app. Finnair customers will then receive a travel confirmation with their online boarding pass. This means that there is no longer a need to check certificates at the airport before departure.

“We are pleased that online document verification makes travel easier for our passengers, as they can start their journey with Finnair without having to show a Covid-19 certificate at the airport. Plus, they can travel with peace of mind, knowing in advance that their documents have been checked and confirmed,” Erklärt Sami Suokas von Finnair.

The new tool will be introduced in two steps: First, customers traveling from Finland to Belgium, Greece, Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Austria, Norway, Spain, Switzerland and the Czech Republic will be able to use the digital tool since December 3, 2021. However, the current list of countries may change due to additional government travel requirements. Finnair plans to provide travelers with the job at a later date to enter other destination countries.
The second step will take place at the beginning of next year, when additional functions are added. Travelers can then also scan or upload their Covid-19 certificates for verification. (red) Vin
