Google threatens to delete the album archive, but what’s the point?

Google will be discontinuing another service, and the company is currently reporting on this matter.

It all started Saturday night: Google sent users an initially spam email. It states that the user “recently viewed the album archive” or “views user content in the album archive”. It is said that the album archive will be deleted soon.

Album Archive, which looks like a connection to Google Photos at first, but the content in it is more about legacy services like Google Hangouts. When I open my album archive, there is a folder with “Photos” from Google Hangouts. So the album archive contains content from days gone by.

Google writes about the content that can be found in the album archive:

  1. Rare instances such as small thumbnails, album comments or likes
  2. Some Google Hangouts data from the album archive
  3. Background images were uploaded to the Gmail theme chooser prior to 2018

You can do that Open here And look at or via Google Takeout Download in the entire package.
