Despite commitments of more than one billion euros, FC Barcelona signed Ferran Torres from Manchester City for 55 million euros in the winter. The newcomer is happy on several levels about the transition that has taken place.
“I am very happy to be with this wonderful club. It is a huge step in my career for me.” With these words, Ferran Torres opened his first interview as a player with the Catalan team.
On Barcelona TV, he explains why the path is the right path for both parties: “I hope to develop as a footballer and as a person and I want to help Barcelona be the club: one of the greatest clubs in the world.”
The 21-year-old is looking forward to working with coach Xavi Hernandez: “I know Xavi’s career – he’s been impeccable. Now as a coach, I’ve started very well, he’s a great coach who will help me keep developing and improving.”
Ferran Torres also mentioned that the F.C.B He got the full package through it. “I can play in all three positions up front, which is important if there are injuries or something. I want to help the team by scoring goals, preparing and defending,” said the Spain international.
At the moment, his teammates have to do without him, as the striker himself is still suffering from the effects of a foot injury and cannot participate in training yet.
