Znojmo – Wednesday, 06.04.2022, 19:47

The Austrian ice hockey team doesn’t have much to report in their first test game in preparation for the A-World Championships in Finland (May 13-29).

In Znojmo, against the Czechs, who in no way took first place, they lost 1: 5.

ÖEHV manager Roger Baer’s team has been wracked with anxiety from the start of the match and can’t keep up with the high pace of the hosts. After eight minutes of play, Cernosz (8) made it 1-0, Hladonic (13) and Zdrahal (15) made it 3-0 after the first half.

Feldner offers the newcomer with the team the only ray of hope

At the beginning of the second division, the picture improved a little, but as the middle third progressed, Austria weakened itself on penalties. Outnumbered, Cienciala (31 / PP) scored the fourth goal for the Czech Republic, after only 43 seconds Friedrich (32) scored the fifth goal: 0 after him.

Even in the final third of the match, the game hardly changes, only Nico Feldner (48) gives a glimmer of hope in his ÖEHV debut with a goal.

On Friday, the ÖEHV national team will play another friendly match against the Czech Republic in Linz (from 5:30 pm. Live broadcast).
