US President Joe Biden wants to renovate the country’s infrastructure in the coming years at a cost of $ 2 trillion (64 1.64 trillion) so that millions of jobs can be created – the “American Recovery Program”, the “American Employment Program” and the “American Families Program”.
- Transport and energy infrastructure needs to be modernized – including building bridges, building roads and expanding the power grid.
- Large sums have also been earmarked for digitalization, energy change and climate protection: there are plans to improve electromobility, set up charging stations, and expand wind and solar power.
According to the Austrian Chamber of Commerce (WKÖ), business opportunities are also emerging for non-American companies as part of these huge investments, which account for about 10 percent of the U.S. annual economic output.
