LASK gets “full professional” Filip Stojkovic

LASK’s first summer signature is Filip Stojkovic. The 29-year-old right-back is signed with the Black and Whites until 2025. As for Dario Marisic, he will leave the club again.

The problem has now been resolved: LASK is strengthening with right-back Filip Stojkovic. Montenegro passed the youth division of Red Star Belgrade, played 96 matches for the Serbian record champions and celebrated three championship titles. In the summer of 2019, he finally made his way to Rapid Vienna in Austria, where he played 79 games under coach Dietmar Koehbauer. The current LASK coach appreciates the newcomer: “I got to know Philip as a real player on the team who knows exactly what he has to do on the pitch. His commitment definitely makes us stronger, and it will benefit the team.”

Recently, Stojkovic caused a stir in Hütteldorf when he reported his injury in front of the WSG and then was seen celebrating in Belgrade. He was dismissed without notice from Rapid, as he had previously not wanted to sign a new contract.

However, Radovan Vujanovic, sporting director of LASK, emphasizes the professional attitude of the first summer signing: “With Philippe, we achieve an absolute winner and a complete professional: he decided early on to switch to LASK and is still doing everything for the former club until his early injury. He has invested. It is a real asset for us.”

Stojkovic: “The spirit of optimism struck me”

And Stojkovic himself? He is already excited to begin his stint at LASK: “In our discussions, the sporting director quickly convinced me of the path the club wanted. The appreciation the club showed me from the start was also decisive. Happening in LASK: The construction of the new stadium sparked a spirit of optimism that immediately struck me. I am really looking forward. So, while Stojkovic is moored in Linz, Dario Marisic says goodbye. After a year-long loan to LASK, he returned to his home club, Stade Reims. The 22-year-old defender made 15 competitive appearances for LASK in the 2021/22 season, scoring the first-ever UEFA Europa Conference League goal in a 2-0 win over HJK Helsinki.
