While Mega Man is known primarily as a challenging platformer, the Mega Man Battle Network Games turned the series into a tactical RPG in the early 2000s. The spin-off series has been very successful, with six entries released in quick succession (ten if you count the Pokémon-like variants).
Soon you will be able to try all the games on modern hardware as Capcom has announced that Mega Man Battle Network: Legacy Collection will be released on April 19, 2023 for Nintendo Switch, PS4 and Steam. The collection even offers online play for most titles.
The physical release on PS4 and Nintendo Switch will contain all 10 game genres, while the digital releases are split into two volumes with the following games:
Part 1:
- Mega Man Battle Network
- Mega Battle Network 2
- Mega Man Battle Network 3: Blue
- Mega Man Battle Network 3: White
Size 2:
- Mega Man Battle Network 4: Blue Moon
- Mega Man Battle Network 4: Red Sun
- Mega Man Battle Network 5: Team Colonel
- Mega Man Battle Network 5: Protoman Team
- Mega Man Battle Network 6: Cyberpunk Gregar
- Mega Man Battle Network 6: Sebeast Falzar
