Microsoft Marks Xbox’s 25th Anniversary With Halo-Inspired Gaming Accessories

Microsoft Marks Xbox’s 25th Anniversary With Halo-Inspired Gaming Accessories

Microsoft is celebrating 25 years of Xbox with a new collection of limited-edition gaming accessories that draws heavily on one of the brand’s most recognizable designs. The Designed for Xbox 25th Anniversary collection brings back the translucent green aesthetic associated with the original Xbox era and its special-edition Halo hardware.

The collection includes gaming peripherals and mobile accessories from Razer, 8BitDo, GameSir, Backbone and PowerA. Many of the products feature the distinctive “OG Green” finish, offering longtime Xbox fans a visual callback to the console’s early years.

Xbox 25th Anniversary Collection Revives Classic Halo Green

The centerpiece of the collection is its translucent green design. The color pays tribute to the special-edition Halo version of the original Xbox, which became one of the most recognizable console variants from Microsoft’s first generation of gaming hardware.

The same aesthetic also complements the limited-edition Xbox Series X25 console Microsoft announced in June at E3.

For U.S. gamers who remember the launch of the original Xbox in November 2001, the collection taps into a period that helped establish Microsoft as a major competitor in the home-console market.

Halo played a significant role in that rise, becoming one of Xbox’s defining franchises and helping make the console’s green branding instantly recognizable.

Razer Adds Mouse, Keyboard and Earbuds to the Collection

Razer is contributing several products to Microsoft’s anniversary lineup, each receiving the translucent green treatment.

The collection includes a 25th Anniversary version of the Razer Basilisk V3 Pro 35K gaming mouse. The high-performance peripheral is joined by a special-edition Razer BlackWidow V4 75% gaming keyboard.

Microsoft and Razer are also offering a commemorative edition of the Razer Hammerhead V3 X HyperSpeed earbuds.

Together, the accessories extend the anniversary design beyond the Xbox console itself, targeting PC and multiplatform gamers as well as traditional console players.

8BitDo and GameSir Bring Anniversary Design to More Devices

The Xbox anniversary collection also includes accessories designed for console controllers and mobile gaming.

8BitDo is offering a translucent green Ultimate charging dock compatible with Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One controllers. The accessory provides a way for players to incorporate the anniversary aesthetic into an existing Xbox setup without purchasing a new console.

GameSir is bringing the same visual treatment to its X5 Lite mobile controller. The device reflects the growing role of smartphones and portable devices in the broader Xbox ecosystem, where cloud gaming and remote play have expanded the ways players can access their libraries.

Backbone Pro Takes a Different Approach With Three Colors

Not every product in the anniversary lineup uses Microsoft’s signature translucent green.

A special edition of the Backbone Pro mobile controller will instead be available in three transparent colors: blue, orange and clear.

The controller follows a translucent green Backbone model released last year, but the new anniversary edition introduces a blind-box format. Buyers will not know which of the three available colors they receive until the package is opened.

That approach makes the Backbone Pro one of the more unusual products in the anniversary collection and adds a collectible element to the release.

PowerA Sling Bag Completes the Xbox Anniversary Lineup

PowerA is also participating with a black sling bag. Unlike most of the hardware in the collection, the bag does not use the translucent green design.

Its inclusion broadens the lineup beyond controllers and gaming peripherals, giving players an option for carrying gaming accessories and other devices.

The new Designed for Xbox products are limited editions and are available for preorder, positioning the collection as part of Microsoft’s broader celebration of a quarter-century of Xbox hardware and gaming.

Xbox Anniversary Collection Leans Into Gaming Nostalgia

Microsoft’s 25th Anniversary collection combines modern gaming hardware with one of the visual styles most closely associated with the early Xbox era. By reviving the translucent Halo-inspired green across products from Razer, 8BitDo and GameSir, the company is clearly targeting both longtime fans and collectors.

With Xbox marking 25 years since its arrival in the U.S. console market, the accessories serve as a reminder of the brand’s origins while adapting that familiar design for today’s console, PC and mobile gaming ecosystem.
