Dune gets a sequel – Transformers, Guardians of the Galaxy, or Mission: Impossible continue: 2023 will be the year of blockbusters and blockbusters. In Germany, movie fans can look forward to seeing “Manta Manta – Zwoter Teil” with Til Schweiger. And in the author’s film we can expect such strong material as “Tár” with Cate Blanchett and “The Banshees of Inisherin”. Colin Farrell Or “Oppenheimer” by Christopher Nolan.
Mission: Impossible, Marvel & Co.: The Year of the Sequels
The list of blockbuster sequels in 2023 is long. In “Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part 1” slots Tom Cruise Again as super agent Ethan Hunt (theatrical release July). Distributor Paramount Pictures promises “extraordinary locations, cool high-tech gadgets, thrills to the extreme” and legendary stunts, which Cruise, as always, is supposed to do here himself.
There is also an almost mandatory sequel to “Fast & Furious” with Vin Diesel – moviegoers can expect the tenth part in May 2023. The seventh part will probably come in November “transformersFilm (“Rise of the Beasts”) in cinemas. A new computer animation “Spider-Man” is also planned. Sony has announced that “Across the Spider-Verse” will be released in the US in June 2023.
The Marvel franchise will also have sequels. This includes the third Guardians of the Galaxy. Chris Pratt (expected to start in May) and “The Marvels” with Brie Larson.
“Manta Manta – Part Two” and other German highlights
Manta fans had to wait a long time, but now the cult movie sequel is here Til Schweiger in the role of Bertie before. In “Manta Manta – Part 2” Bertie has given up his racing career for a long time and runs an auto repair shop and track. But then he gets into financial troubles and decides to do another race after all. Because the big ’90s race is coming for Bilster Berg, which can solve Bertie’s financial problems in one fell swoop. He has a month to turn his Opel into a blast from the days of the old Manta. In addition to Schweiger, Tina Rowland as O’Shea and Michael Kessler as Bertie’s best friend, Klausie, are back in the movie, which will be released March 30.
There is also a failed car salesman in “The Cave”. Moritz Blebtro in the main role. The film, based on a play about the relationship between a man and a woman, will be shown in cinemas in January. It’s about car dealership Bobby, who wants to start a career as a comedian. A few minutes before he is to perform at the local comedy club, his wife leaves him. That’s why Bobby spontaneously changes his program and gives a talk on stage about his failed relationship, women and men in general. In the end, the audience must pass their judgment on Bobby.
A highlight of March might be the film adaptation of David Wendt’s book Sonne und Beton by Felix Lobrecht (“He’s back”, “Wetlands”).
