Nicholas Seewald moves to RB Leipzig

Nici Seiwald has been with us for thirteen years and is a prime example of how players develop at FC Red Bull Salzburg. Go through all the stages with us and continue to evolve. Now he used the contractually fixed exit clause and decided to take the next step in the summer and play in one of the top European leagues. We are extremely proud of the way Nessie, despite his young age, has developed into an absolute first base player and a hugely important figure on and off the field. But now we look forward to the coming months with him for the first time, when we will all strive towards the great goal of bringing Salzburg a tenth championship title in a row.

I’ve been playing for Salzburg for many years and I’ve learned everything I can do as a footballer here. The past year in particular has been incredible, and I sometimes have to push myself to realize what happened out there. Above all, appearing in the Champions League and for the Austrian national team was something very special. My trip will continue in the summer and I will move to RB Leipzig. This change also makes sense to me because of the similar game system, and I’m looking forward to it. But anyone who knows me knows very well that I would give absolutely everything for Red Bull Salzburg until then. My big goal is to let the club win another championship title.
