Nintendo Direct: Coming in March – Focusing on one theme

Several shows have already been announced this week, including a new PlayStation State of Play and a new edition of Pokémon Presents. Nintendo is now following up with a live conference.

Nintendo has announced that the next live conference is already on the agenda for the new month of March. However, this is a slightly different version of what you might expect now, after all the focus isn’t on several upcoming Switch games, but basically just one theme – and that’s not even a video game.

This is the Super Mario Bros. movie. new, which will cover the entirety of the new Direct thematically. This is also evident from the tweet announcing the next episode. There, the Japanese openly admit that there will be no information about the game.

Instead, the final cinematic movie trailer will be shown on the new Direct; Additionally, additional movie information should play a role, as one likely wouldn’t advertise a full live-action movie just for the trailer. The image Nintendo posted at least indicates that Mario Kart must play a role in some way.

The new Super Mario Bros. movie is set to hit theaters April 17 in North America and April 28 in Japan. It was originally scheduled to air on December 21, 2022 before another tape delay.

The new movie was developed in collaboration with Illumination Entertainment. The animated movie was originally announced in 2018 after rumors had been circulating beforehand. Above all, they focused on the fact that Chris Pratt (“Guardians of the Galaxy”, “Jurassic World”) voices Mario. It stars Jack Black as Bowser, Charlie Day as Luigi and Seth Rogen as Donkey Kong.
