Telangana Chief Minister has fielded two candidates from Backward Classes (BC) for the three seats in the Rajya Sabha By-elections which are scheduled on March 23. The third seat is given to a candidate from OC. All the three candidates have filed their nominations today.
KCR seems to have played the BC card for impressing the backward caste people in the state by allotting two out of three seats in RS By-election to BC candidates.
Further, KCR is also planning to hold a demonstration at Jantar Mantar at Delhi emphasizing the need for amendments in reservations of STs, minorities, and categorization of Scheduled castes into groups. KCR has given the responsibility of looking after the political strategy of by-elections to his son and state minister KT Rama Rao.
As presumed earlier, KCR seems to be carving out a plan to enter into the National level politics and promote his son to the supreme position in the party at the state level.
Usually State minister and Chief Minister’s nephew Harish Rao used to look after the political strategies before the elections. But, giving this responsibility to KCR’s son KTR is a clear indication of the elevation of the latter’s position within the party.
This step has strengthened the talk that KCR is going to project his son KTR as the next candidate for the post of Chief Minister of the state.
