Red Bull Ring: Less hurdles, more gravel
Let’s take a first look at the Red Bull Circuit in Spielberg. The FIA announced several minor changes to the track: the grass strip on the right side between Turn 2 and 3 was reduced and replaced with gravel. In addition, the bands on the right side in curve 3, the narrow right-hand bend, are extended to the apex.
What the teams should be especially pleased with after the discussions in France: in the sixth round, the high barriers at the corner exit were removed, and the gravel bed was moved closer to the white line.
The three DRS regions this weekend:
#1: Measurement point 160m before curve 1, activation 102m after curve 1
#2: Measuring point 40 meters before curve 3, activation 100 meters after curve 3
#3: Measure point 120m before curve 10, activation 106m after curve 10 (at start – straight end)

“It’s a little bit faster on Saturday, but we’re in the race on par or even slightly better in terms of tire degradation and race speed.” This is how Mercedes assesses the current balance of power in Formula 1 above. So Red Bull is the favorite again, especially in the qualifiers.

Verstappen: “I want to stay in the team”
We start the day with the championship leader: Red Bull. Motorsports consultant Helmut Marko and first model Max Verstappen have been with us for a few days now.ServusTV‘Invited to the interview.’ Among other things, the two men were asked about their future together.
In January of the previous year, Verstappen signed a contract extension until the end of 2023, will the relationship really last that long? “It’s very simple on our part: we just have to give him a competitive package, and then I think we can be sure of his services,” Marko says.
Verstappen agrees: “That’s how it is.” Because he feels at home in Red Bull and would like to drive for “ten, 15 years” for the first team. “I’d like to stay on the team.” The joint successes of the current season should also contribute to this.
