Princess Kate plays a ball girl

With former tennis player Roger Federer, she participated in a training session for the children of the ball and showed her athletic side.

During the girls’ and boys’ ball practice a week before the Grand Prix Wimbledon, Princess Kate showed off her athletic side alongside tennis star Roger Federer. The 41-year-old, who is patron of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club and therefore official host of Wimbledon, wants to draw attention to the work of girls and boys at the ball.

“Wimbledon is known for its incredibly professional boys and girls,” said Kate. “It’s unbelievable the amount of work that goes on behind the scenes,” she says in an Instagram video. 1,000 children aged between 11 and 13 from schools near Wimbledon take part in the courses each year. One quarter will be selected for the tournament.

The famous duo took part in one of these training sessions and then played some balls themselves. “I have to work on my throwing technique,” Federer humorously commented. The former professional tennis player, the Wimbledon record holder with eight singles titles, paid tribute to the princess: “The serve looks good.”
